Paper Hats 3 - At last the Hat! (in progress)

Started by constructing a base for the hat.
Just wanted a small base for the hat, something very contemporary, summery and English!
I have tried to recycled all the bits and pieces of paper i had...and this is the structure.

Now the structure has been covered by a Kriss-Kross mat made of paper from an old telephone book.
And the first flower is on!
The structure is covered in and out...

And voila...
Now i just need a model to test it on...

Meanwhile, i think i will just have a slice of this yummy looking chocolate cake!

More research on hats and paper crafts...
I came across this amazing work and new trend: LEGO Trend

This the work of fashion designer JC de Castelbajac, a french designer. His references were as varied as  African tribal accessories, holidays in the south of France and iconic 80’s design, the Moschino’s spliced pocket jacket.

Castelbajac introduces Lego’s to the high fashion world with these Lego inspired New Era fitted hats. The fitted hat features a 80’s inspired color-scheme, and a mohawk all composed from Lego’s.

Fergie from Black Eyed Peas appeared at the Nickelodeon’s 24th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 2, 2011. She was wearing an amazing and super cool dress and accessories made of legos.
How amazing is this in this times of recession?

Amy Butler, the american artist, designer and fabric guru also has really cute fabric kind of hats/hair acessories in her new Spring/Summer Collection

Another artist with a really impressive work is the french Maryse Dugois, a french designer and illustrator. All her objects are made of paper, some are the photographed and used as illustration for books and magazines.

I came across this really cute little girl´s dress made out of envelopes

And little shoes made out of maps...how cute is that?

Or how beautiful can be a simple white paper flower...

Or maybe a natural, pink rose for inspiration...
 Or a green one?
Or maybe all of them!
